Crying out

Proverbs 2: 1-5 says:

My son, if you accept my words

and store up my commands within you,
turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
indeed, if you call out for insight
    and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.

Did you catch that - "if you look for it as  for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God."?

How hard would we search for silver, for a hidden treasure?  How much time would we put in?  Then, the more important question, do I seek God like that?  Do I put in the time and effort like that?  "if you look for it as  for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God."

How often do I cry out to the Lord in my morning prayers, and then basically go about my day without seeking out the answers He is giving me?  We should be passionate about seeking the Lord, all day, every day, if we really want to know Him.  So then the question becomes, do we really want to know Him?
